Privacy Settings

A walkthrough of every privacy setting on your account.

Privacy settings let you decide what others see and what we share. This walkthrough covers each setting in order, with our suggested defaults.

Profile Visibility

Choose 'Public', 'Members', or 'Hidden'. Public means anyone can see your profile. Members means only signed-in users. Hidden means only you. Most members pick 'Public'.

Activity Visibility

Choose what to show in your public activity feed: reviews, comments, both, or none. You can hide specific items at the post level too.

Search Indexing

Choose whether search engines should index your profile. Off by default for new accounts. You can turn it on if you want your reviews to show up in web searches.

AI Use

Decide whether your data can be used to train models. We never train on private content like messages. You can turn off training on public content too.

Quick tips

  • Review settings every quarter.
  • Tighter settings hurt nothing.
  • Use Private Mode for short-term boosts.
  • Reach out for help with any setting.
