Hate Speech Policy
What hate speech is and how we keep it off the platform.
Hate speech hurts real people. It also pushes good members away. We remove hate speech quickly and we do not warn before banning repeat offenders.
Our Working Definition
Hate speech is content that attacks people for who they are—race, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, or national origin. The attack can be direct or coded.
Slurs and Symbols
We remove most slurs by default. Some words have other meanings inside specific groups. Our team checks the full context before we act.
Quoting vs. Endorsing
Quoting hate speech to call it out is different from posting it to spread it. We look at intent and surrounding text. Educational quotes with clear push-back are allowed.
Ad Content Rules
Ads that include hate speech are removed and the advertiser is banned. We also block ads that target slur-based search terms.
Quick tips
- •Report posts even if you are not the target.
- •Save screenshots before you report.
- •Do not engage—engagement boosts the post.
- •Reach out to a friend if a post upsets you.
