Misinformation Policy

How we handle false claims in ads and reviews.

False claims hurt people who trust them. They also hurt honest advertisers. RateAds works to remove and label clear misinformation, especially when it can cause harm.

What We Remove

We remove ads and reviews that make false health claims, election falsehoods, or fake safety warnings. We also remove deepfakes meant to deceive.

What We Label

Some claims are debated by experts. We label those posts with a link to a balanced source instead of removing them. Labels help readers think for themselves.

How We Decide

Our team uses public, expert sources to check facts. We list our sources on every label we add. If a label is wrong, you can appeal.

Quick tips

  • Check claims against two reliable sources before sharing.
  • Use the report button for false claims that could harm people.
  • Read the labels we add; they cite where we got our facts.
  • Be open to changing your mind when new evidence shows up.
