Review Guidelines
How to write reviews that help readers and stay within the rules.
A great review is short, clear, and honest. These guidelines walk through what to include, what to leave out, and how to make your review easy to read.
Stick to the Ad
Talk about the ad you saw, not the brand's whole history. If you have a story about a product, that is a product review—post it on a product site, not here.
Use the Rating Dimensions
RateAds has separate ratings for creativity, clarity, honesty, and tone. Use them. Splitting your view this way makes your review more useful to other readers.
No Spoilers Without Warnings
Some ads tell a story. If you spoil the ending in your review, add a spoiler warning. This small step keeps your review helpful without ruining the surprise.
Quick tips
- •Aim for 80–200 words per review.
- •Quote the part of the ad you are reacting to.
- •Skip personal info about the people in the ad.
- •Edit once before you post.
