Scam Prevention

How to spot and avoid scams aimed at RateAds members.

Scammers often target busy reviewers and small advertisers. These signs and habits keep most scams from finding a foothold on your account.

Common Scam Types

Watch for fake brand reps offering paid reviews, fake support emails asking for your password, and fake job offers paid in gift cards. None of these are real.

Red Flags

Pressure to move fast. Requests to switch to a different chat tool. Spelling and grammar that look 'off'. Money offers that seem too good. Any one of these is a strong signal to stop.

What to Do

Do not reply. Do not click. Block the user. Forward the message to scams@rateads.us if you can. We use these reports to find and ban scam accounts faster.

Quick tips

  • We never ask for your password.
  • Pause before clicking links from messages.
  • Block scammers; do not argue.
  • Forward scam messages to support.
