Community Standards Guide

A quick guide to the standards that shape life on RateAds.

This guide is a short tour of the rules and ideas that make RateAds work. Read it once and you will know what to expect from every page on the site.

The Big Three

Be honest. Be kind. Be useful. Most rules on RateAds come from these three ideas. When you write a review or post a comment, ask yourself if it meets all three.

What We Allow

Sharp criticism is fine. So is praise. Both help people decide where to spend their time and money. We allow strong language as long as it does not target a person.

What We Do Not Allow

Threats, doxxing, hate speech, fake reviews, and spam are removed. So are ads that make false health, money, or safety claims. Repeat breakers are banned.

Quick tips

  • Save this page; it is a good first stop when in doubt.
  • Most posts that feel risky are easy to fix with one edit.
  • Use the report button often—it is the fastest way to flag issues.
  • Read full policies for the topics that matter to you.
