Expected Behavior Guidelines
How we expect community members to interact with each other.
These are the basic rules for being a part of RateAds. Following them keeps the site safe and useful for everyone, every day.
Be Kind in Public Posts
Reviews, comments, and replies are public. Other people will read what you write for years to come. Pause and re-read your post before you hit send. Would you say it to a friend? If not, edit it.
Stay on Topic
Keep reviews about the ad you watched or saw. Personal feuds, off-topic links, and spam get removed. If you have a complaint about the site itself, send it to support instead of posting it as a review.
Respect Privacy
Do not share other people's contact info, home addresses, or private photos. This is true even if you found the info somewhere else. We remove posts that out people without consent.
Follow the Spirit of the Rules
Some users try to get around the rules with creative wording or hidden meanings. Our team looks at intent, not just exact words. If a post is meant to harass, we treat it as harassment.
Quick tips
- •Re-read your review one time before posting.
- •Quote the ad's text instead of guessing at intent.
- •Use the report button when you see something off.
- •When in doubt, ask yourself if a child could read it.
