Intellectual Property
How we handle copyrights, trademarks, and creative ownership.
RateAds respects the work of artists, writers, brands, and creators. These rules explain what you can post and how to handle copyright complaints.
What You Can Post
You can post screenshots and short clips of ads for review. Fair use covers most reviews. Do not post a full ad as if it were yours, and do not strip out brand marks.
Trademarks in Reviews
It is fine to mention brand names. It is not fine to pose as a brand or to use logos in your profile picture. Members who pretend to be a brand will lose their account.
Filing a Copyright Complaint
Rights holders can file a takedown using our DMCA form. We act on valid notices within 24 hours. We also offer a counter-notice path for posts removed by mistake.
Quick tips
- •Quote, do not copy whole works in your review.
- •Credit artists when you share their style or imagery.
- •Keep proof of your own original content in case of disputes.
- •Read the DMCA process before you file a complaint.
