Research Collaboration

How we work with researchers to study and improve online safety.

We work with university and non-profit researchers to study online safety. The goal is to make the whole industry better, not just our site.

Open Data Sets

We share anonymized data with vetted researchers under strict agreements. The data has helped studies on misinformation, abuse, and ad effectiveness.

Joint Studies

Sometimes we partner on studies. We share what we know; they share findings before publishing so we can flag privacy concerns. Final papers are public.

Researcher Code of Conduct

Every research partner signs our code. They cannot identify members, sell data, or share data outside the project. We audit on a regular schedule.

Quick tips

  • Apply to our research program if you have a relevant study.
  • Read past papers on our research page.
  • Suggest study topics through the contact form.
  • Trust that your data is anonymized before any sharing.
