Transparency Report

Twice-a-year numbers on requests, actions, and outcomes.

The transparency report is our regular update on how we run the site. It covers content actions, legal requests, and accuracy of our decisions.

Content Actions

Each report shows how many posts we removed, how many were appealed, and how many appeals overturned the original call. Numbers are broken down by rule type.

Legal Requests

We share counts of subpoenas, warrants, and emergency disclosures by country. The report also shows how often we narrowed or rejected a request.

Mistakes We Made

We highlight the cases where we got it wrong, what we learned, and what we changed. This part is the smallest section but the most useful.

Quick tips

  • Bookmark the report page; new editions go live on Jan 31 and Jul 31.
  • Compare numbers year over year for trends.
  • Reach out if a number raises questions.
  • Read the methodology page for definitions.
