Two-Factor Authentication
Set up two-factor sign-in to lock down your account.
Two-factor adds a second step to every sign-in. Even if a password is stolen, the second step blocks the attacker. Set up takes about five minutes.
Choose Your Second Factor
Pick one: an app like Aegis, Authy, or 1Password (best), a hardware key like YubiKey (strongest), or SMS (still better than nothing). The app option is the best mix of cost and security.
Set It Up
Open Settings → Security → Two-Factor. Pick your method. Scan the QR code with your app or plug in your hardware key. Save the backup codes that show up. Test the sign-in.
What Happens at Sign-In
After your password, the site asks for the second factor. The app shows a six-digit code that changes every 30 seconds. The hardware key just needs a tap.
